LSC Travel Update (3.28.2020)

LSC Travel Program

Spring 2020 Season Update

As of 3/28/2020, US Soccer, US Youth Soccer (USYS) and NJ Youth Soccer (NJYS), have suspended all practices and games indefinitely.  The Livingston Soccer Club (LSC) Travel Program is following all guidelines and is utilizing Virtual Training until it is safe to return to the soccer fields.

Once we hear from our governing bodies regarding the Spring season, we will relay the information on to our parents.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this difficult time!

Virtual Training

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, the LSC Travel Program has implemented Virtual Training for all its U8 – U19 teams.

  • All teams are given activities and drills they can use throughout this time of isolation.  This can be found in TeamSnap.
    • If using a phone/iPad, tap “More” in the bottom-right corner.  Then “Files”.
    • If using a computer, click “Media” near the top.
  • The LSC Travel Program has partnered with Techne Futbol to provide a great resource for individual soccer skills for your child.
    • You should have received an invitation to join Techne Futbol.  If you have not already done so, accept the invitation so you can start your training.
    • Each Sunday evening, a new set of skills is published between juggling, dribbling, and wall work.
    • You have access to practice these skills at any time of any day of the week.
    • We encourage players to use this App as much as possible.
    • Players can compete against other players on their team, in the club, and around the world.  They track their time, enter their results, and extend their streaks.
  • During your regularly scheduled practice (as per TeamSnap), your trainer will be available to communicate with you via the TeamSnap chat or Zoom.

We encourage all players to follow our Instagram page (@LSC_Travel) to follow the leaderboards and participate in regular contests.

Possibility of a Spring 2020 Season Cancellation

The LSC Travel Program will follow all mandates issued by our governing bodies:  US Soccer, USYS, and NJYS.  If the decision is made to cancel the Spring season, the LSC Travel Program will issue refunds to all players.

Unfortunately, there were costs incurred prior to the suspension of sanctioned activities.  This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Training Fees
  • Insurance
  • League Registration
  • Player Registration
  • TeamSnap
  • Tryouts
  • Credit Card Fees
  • Uniforms (For those who ordered, they will be delivered to you no matter what)

Our goal is to provide parents a refund based on costs not incurred if the season is cancelled.

Planning for the Fall 2020/Spring 2021 Season

Typically, the LSC Travel Program holds tryouts in late April/early May.  We realize the current suspension of sanctioned activities may not allow for a soccer season nor tryouts for the upcoming Fall 2020/Spring 2021 season.

Our hope is to hold formalized tryouts, but if this is not possible, we will form teams based on but not limited to the following:  Trainer Ratings from the Fall of 2019, Intown Coach Ratings from the Fall of 2019, and tryout results from Spring of 2018 and Winter of 2019.

More details will come throughout the month of April.
